There are so many stressors in our everyday life and sometimes we either lack the skills to deal with them; or we simply ignore it. That is definitely not the thing to do. When we ignore something it only festers and grow much worse. Because of this, things like anxiety attack symptoms in women become a problem.

Men too have these issues; it is just more prevalent in women. Can you imagine more than twenty million people in the United States have anxiety issues, in one way or the other? This number is quite staggering. It has been shown in the various tests run my hospitals and medical practitioners. Needless to say majority of the patients or sufferers are women.

Anxiety is simply a coming mechanism. It indicates when we are having difficulty handling a particular situation. Now too much of it is not good. It becomes more of a detractor to our everyday life. An anxiety disorder can prevent you from doing things like going out, playing with your children, going to work or simply having fun. Read further, you will see how anxiety attack symptoms in women, can affect them.

So how do you know when someone is experiencing anxiety? What traits do you look for? They are mainly physical, but there is emotional evidence as well. The symptoms are dependent on the individual. There are different kinds of anxiety disorders and these show themselves in various ways. A female who has panic attacks, will tell you that they sense some level of doom. This comes on quite suddenly, to them.

You will begin to notice that they start to breathe more rapidly, taking short breaths. Some may even have heart palpitations and their chest start to feel tight and painful. You will notice them sweating a lot, that they have body chills or even complain that they are choking.

Anxiety attack symptoms in women may include feeling faint or dizzy. Some women may complain that they want to throw up. Others may have a numb sensation in any area of their body, especially their limbs. Some may even freeze up if they think they are going to die shortly. One major symptom, after talking to some of these women, is the sense of derealization. They say it feels like being disconnected with your body and what is happening around you. These are just a few of the ways anxiety affects women in general.

Anxiety comes natural to a lot of people; whether they are worrying about family, work or even their health. Due to this fact, many disregard anxiety as a medical condition. If anxiety is hindering a person from performing effectively in his or her daily life, then he or she should consultation with his or her doctor. Anxiety can be treated through a variety of different ways, and one such treatment is beta blockers for anxiety.

Beta blockers for anxiety are also referred to as anxiolytics. They are usually given to an individual to decrease the effect of unrest or physical strain like glycogen breakdown, tremor, contractile force and low heart rate. It also helps to open up the bronchi in the lungs and it can be used to dilate blood vessels. Doctors usually prescribe beta blockers to treat different type of cardiac related illnesses such as myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, angina, cardiac arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation.

Beta blockers for anxiety, reduces the symptoms that one when he or she is experiencing anxiety. This is due to the fact that beta blockers for anxiety lessen the effect of adrenaline and noradrenaline, which are hormones that are produced when a person gets anxious. Propanolol, which is a type of beta blockers for anxiety, is the sole drug that is designated for tremors.

Beta blockers for anxiety can be taken in the form of injections, liquid, capsules and tablets. Doctors recommendations state that the capsules and tablets should be taken while sitting or standing and with approximately half glass of water, so that the medication is deposited directly into the stomach and does not get stuck in the throat.

Common side effects of beta blocker for anxiety are cold extremities and tiredness, and these are experienced very early in the treatment; however, they will eventually go away. Infrequent side effects of beta blockers for anxiety are a slower heart rate, difficulty breathing, dizziness, sleeplessness, diarrhea and nausea.

As with any other drug, there are risks involved when taking beta blockers for anxiety. Unfavorable drug reactions that are related to taking beta blockers for anxiety include erectile dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, hallucinations, heart blocks and heart failure. It is also believed that these drugs can increase the risk of persons developing diabetes.

Cognitive therapy is a very effective type of post traumatic stress disorder treatment. Cognitive therapy is also referred to as the ‘talk therapy,’ and it can be conducted in both a group setting and an individual setting. This specific type of post traumatic stress disorder treatment may involve other therapies like stress management training, exposure therapy, processing therapy and behavioral therapy.

There are several experts that agree that individual therapy as a form of post traumatic stress disorder treatment is the best way to treat the disorder. However, there are some of those who struggle with the disorder that prefer a group setting, and benefit greatly from being in such a setting.

It should be noted that choosing the individual setting or the group setting as a form of post traumatic stress disorder treatment, is entirely a personal preference. The most important thing is that the patient should be comfortable in the setting that he or she chooses.

Cognitive therapy helps those who are battling post traumatic stress disorder. It allows them to express themselves as much as they can, and in as much detail as they can, about their experiences. During the first few sessions, the experiences can be done in an overview, while the details are saved for sessions later on.

Professional therapists who knows what they are doing, will not force a patient to talk about his or her experiences in detail until he or she is ready to do so. Additionally, the therapist should teach the patient stress management and coping skills as a form of post traumatic stress disorder treatment, and ensure that the patient uses these skills effectively.

It is a general misconception that the type of post traumatic stress disorder treatment known as exposure therapy, involves the patient purposely putting themselves in front of their greatest fear and having to deal with it. However, exposure therapy involves relieving stress by taking small steps to face small concepts. For instance, a patient many be very fearful of leaving their house because of post traumatic stress disorder symptoms.

A good therapist would help that patient to alleviate the stress they experience by allowing them to first open the door, and then walk to the mailbox. These small steps can be carefully managed without having to deal with too much stress. Once the small steps have been managed, the patient can continue until they conquer their fears.

If you are battling post traumatic stress disorder, you should know that you cannot manage this condition by yourself; you are going to need professional help. Cognitive therapy is a post traumatic stress disorder treatment that is highly recommended and quite effective.

Social phobia can be described as the fear or the uncomfortable feeling of being around people. There are several other phobias that are associated with social phobia; however, the focus of this article is social phobia treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is recognized as the best and the most effective form of social phobia treatment. There are two primary reasons that CBT is more effective and produces faster results than any other type of therapies used for social phobia treatment.

First of all, during the first meeting that the patient and the therapist will have, they both agree how long the treatment will be. Therefore, they are able to set a goal from the very first session. On average, the number of CBT sessions that a person suffering from social phobia needs is sixteen. Secondly, you are more likely to see results with CBT in a shorter time, when compared to psychoanalysis which may take several years.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a form of social phobia treatment is an instructive and intensive program, which requires the patient to do his or her part in order for the treatment to be successful. If the sessions are conducted on a weekly basis, at the end of every session the patient will receive an assignment that he or she has to complete before the next session. Unlike other therapies that may be used as a form of social phobia treatment, CBT is not open-ended.

There are some therapists who adhere to the old stoic line of social phobia treatment. This basically states that, ‘if a patient has a problem, then they have one problem.’ Then the patient finds themselves fretting and worrying about that problem. Patients need to be taught that they have a problem, and they should calmly accept the problem and try to work it out. No good can come from fretting and worrying about the issue.

The first thing that a therapist should do is to convince the patient that no social phobia treatment can be effective with willpower only. There are many times when patients are told that, ‘everyone has problems,’ ‘suck it up!’ or even ‘snap out of it!’ These statements will never help patients to overcome social phobia; therefore, they should be taught that willpower alone cannot get rid of your fears.

There are some experts and therapists who do not recommend medications as a form of social phobia treatment; however, medications affect each person in different ways. As such, medication should not be treated as ‘one size fits all.’ If a patient is very close to suicide or there state of mind has been altered in some way, then prescription drugs should be considered as a form of social phobia treatment.

Exhaustion – Anxiety symptoms in men that cause them to be restless will eventually cause them to suffer from exhaustion. This emotional effect will cause some hormones to be triggered, and to be released into the body. Once hormones such as adrenaline, cortical and epinephrine are released, the body will react in an attempt to fight the forthcoming anxiety attack. Men will usually experience increased blood pressure, increased heart beat and tension in the muscles. Regrettably, his body will continue to react in this manner, until the anxiety attack subsides. This may be shown in different ways such as impatience, irritability, anxiousness and nervousness. These anxiety symptoms in men are not very common; however, when they appear they can often distract their thoughts. A man’s concentration levels will also be affected.

Respiratory Disturbances – As stated before, increased heart rate and increased blood pressure are two anxiety symptoms in men that will cause respiratory disturbances. Men will usually experience dizziness as a result of inability to breath or shortness of breath.

Digestive Problems – Digestive problems are one of the most common anxiety symptoms in men. Hormonal changes will result in diarrhea, nausea and loss of appetite.

More Common Anxiety Symptoms in Men – Although the symptoms listed above are specific to men, there are some symptoms that are more common. These symptoms include feeling extremely scared, anxious, nervous, sweating excessively and headaches.
